This project is eco-friendly because it is washable and students don’t need to renew their facemasks by throwing their old ones in trash. It produces less waste and keeps the environment clean. Parents will not also worry about spending money in buying facemasks for their children because it is given for free. The funding for the customized masks will be coming from a recycling event which we will also conduct. It will be having a registration fee in order for participants to join the said event. Some of the gathered amount will be given as prizes for winners and the rest will be our budget for the facemasks. The recycling event is not only for our funds but also to help students learn how to transform waste into usable materials. It helps them to showcase their talents and skill and improves their creativity. It is also a way to lessen the waste that contributes in the causes of climate change. This will cover the 3R’s, Reduce, Reuse and Recycle which will be also learned by students.

This project has a timeframe of a month including the event and production of uniform facemasks. As we gather our budget in the recycling event, our funding will be close to none. We will also use our own resources for conducting the recycling event. This leads our expenses into the materials and production cost for facemasks, and Internet. We will also use the free services offered by the media platforms: Change.org, Wix.com, and live streaming in YouTube.
This project will focus not only in the climate change issue, but also to emphasize the role of media in conducting our project. It will show the use of media as a powerful tool in influencing people based on the information they gather in media platforms such us in our own website, Change.org, and in YouTube. This will also preserve the reliability of media as a source of information and advocacy.
